As always, there is a lot going on in Room 24 and at JWG!
This week the school is celebrating Earth Week by having a special day/event every day this week. On Tuesday we will be have a Lights Out block, where we will be learning using the natural sunlight instead of the bright fluorescents of our class. On Wednesday, it is Water Bottle Wednesday! Everyone is encouraged to bring in their reusable water bottles instead of disposable plastic ones. On Thursday we will be going paperless! Finally, on Friday the school is having a Earth Day Play Day! The last block of the day will be dedicated to outdoor, earth focused play! In our class room we will be keeping with the Earth week theme as we begin to build our sustainable cities using recycled material. If you have anything at home that the students might be able to use to build please send it in! In Math, we will be continuing with our Math Centres. Students are rotating through different activities including problem solving, spheros, Prodigy, independent practise, and much more! The problems this week will focus on working with decimals. In Science, students will be working on a "HyperDoc" to learn about Minerals (Grade 4) and Solar Energy (Grade 5). Ask your child about this fun and interactive learning activity. They access it through Google Classroom. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please let me know! I am looking forward to a fun week of learning!
