There is a lot happening in A3 this week.
In Math, we will be looking at fractions. Students will be exploring the concept of what a fraction is, what they represent, and how they are used in the real world. We will be learning to represent, compare, and order fractions using a variety of strategies. In Writing, we will be looking at some of the ways that writers come up with ideas for their writing. Students will be exploring a variety of writing topics and will be looking at some techniques that writers use to improve their writing. In Reading, we will be looking at the reading comprehension strategy, visualizing. During our read aloud and independent reading time students will be focusing on the mental pictures that pop into their heads while they are reading and what key language the author uses to create those images. In Science, we will be starting an examination of the impact that humans have on biodiversity by exploring the controversial issue of the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone Park. Students will be asked to look at both sides of the issue and do some research on the topic. This week promises to be an exciting week!
