This week is Bullying Awareness and Prevention week, which is recognized by schools all across Ontario. During this week we will be learning more about all forms of bullying and the effect that it can have everyone's learning and well-being. Everyday this week you are encouraged to ask your child what they learned about bullying in our schools and how they are going make our classroom/school a safer, happier, and kinder place.
This week we will be wrapping up two assignments that we have been working on for a while. Students will have one more day to finish up writing their rant. They will have a few days to practice and are encouraged to practice at home. We will begin presenting our rants on Thursday. For their biodiversity issue project students will have a few more day to collect their information. Once they have all their research collected they will begin to create their poster boards and visuals. We will be having an open house where students will have the opportunity to share their learning with parents and other classes. A date is not yet set but I will let you know as soon as we have one. In Math, we will be measuring, constructing, and sorting angles and polygons. In Reading, we will be continuing to look at summarizing as a comprehension strategy. In Writing, we will be returning to some mini lessons that will add to our writers tool box. The learning never stops in A3!
