Time is just flying by...
A note on Halloween: All students who wish to dress up for Halloween are asked to come to school in their costumes on Tuesday Oct. 31 (no masks or weapons). We will be having some school festivities during the morning block where students will have the oppertunity to show off their costumes. After first break students will have time to change out of their costumes if they wish or they can remain in them for the day. In Math, we will be continuing to explore how fractions can be represented and orderd. Towards the end of the week we will be collecting some data regarding pumpkins and will be using it to begin looking at data management. In Writing, we will be looking at Author's Purpose (Entertain, Inform, and Persuade) as well as adding to our writers tool kit by looking at other ways that authors make their writing interesting and engaging. In Reading, we will be looking at visualizing and making connections as reading strategies for understanding our class read aloud "The Wild Robot". We will also be looking at summarizing as a way to comprehend what you have read. In Science, we will be finishing our case study on "The wolves of Yellowstone" and students will begin examining a local issue related to biodiversity and the impacts that humans are having. I am looking forward to another great week of learning and growing!
