Happy Monday… Oh wait, it’s TUESDAY!
With this being a short week we will be working hard to get a lot done! As the cooler weather arrives, please remind your child that they need to come dressed for the weather everyday! They also need to have a pair of indoor running shoes for gym. They will not be allowed to participate in gym if they don’t have proper footwear. Math - We will be starting a unit on fractions. Students will be exploring how to represent, compare and order fractions in a variety of ways. Reading - We are coming to the end of our class read aloud, Red Wolf. Students will be working on a collaborative project that will highlight their understanding of the main concepts of the book. More on this next week. Reading responses this week will focus on making connections with some of the characters in the independent books that they are reading. Writing - Students have already begun working on their final version of their biography. This is due Thursday. Please check in with your child to see how things are going. Science - We will be continuing with our Biodiversity Unit. This week we will be addressing the question “What impact do humans have on biodiversity?” We will be using Yellowstone National Park as a case study. Students will participate in a debate on this topic, taking into consideration different perspectives on the issue. Looking forward to a great week of learning!
