November is just flying by!
Progress Reports go home on Monday. Friday is a P.D. Day with the afternoon being set aside for Parent-Teacher conferences. There is a letter going home in the Progress Report envelopes that contains more information about the conferences. In Reading, we will be looking at the comprehension skill of summarizing. Students will be asked to practice this skill using a variety of texts. In Writing, we will be finishing up our Rants. Students can begin to practice saying their rants at home so they are ready to present next week. In Science, we are finishing up our biodiversity issue research. This research will be presented in a convention style poster board. Students are taking all of the research that they have done on their issue and are creating a poster board presentation. They are also able to create some visuals for their presentation. Parents will be invited to the Biodiversity Convention to learn about all of the issues that our class has researched and see the learning that is taking place in A3. More information about the date and time of the convention will follow soon. In Math, we will be finishing up our investigations in data management. Students will be practicing graphing, calculating mean, median, and mode, collecting data, and interpreting graphs. In Art, we will be looking at the Elements of Design, focusing on Line and Value. The learning never stops in A3!
