Good Monday Morning!
Another short week, but we still have a lot to do! Again, I can’t stress enough that students need to have a pair of gym appropriate indoor shoes. Also, students need to have snow pants and snow boots in order to be in the field at nutrition break. I know a lot of students enjoy playing football at break time and this will require them to have snow pants and snow boots at school. Math - We will be looking at reading and interpreting data. Students will explore different measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode) and will look at the difference between discrete and continuous data. Reading - We will be looking at the comprehension strategy, Asking Questions. Students will be exploring how asking questions before, during and after reading helps them to deepen their understanding of what they are reading. Writing - Students have just finished writing their rants. This week we will revisit some key writing techniques that they can use to help improve their writing. (power of three and million dollar words). Science - Students will be working hard on their biodiversity research project. We will be sharing our learning in a convention style presentation in the library. Specifics on this coming soon. Important Dates Nov. 11 - Progress Reports go home Nov. 14 - Humane Society Visit Nov. 15 - PD Day, no school for students Nov. 18 - School Council poinsettias and chocolate orders are due
